Game Recap Nick Larson's end-to-end rush 23 seconds into overtime gave Hill-Murray its third straight one goal victory over White Bear Lake. Larson's backhand from close range beat Bears goalie Owen Collette, culminating an entertaining, evenly played game that featured numerous scoring chances despite the 2-1 score. Hill-Murray began the overtime on the power play thanks to a White Bear penalty late in regulation. Tyler Zepeda battled for the puck along the boards for 20 seconds, finally gained control and was tripped by Sean Galloway. Typical of early season play, many scoring chances were generated off turnovers or broken plays. Joe Phillippi was outstanding in thwarting all but one of the Bears' chances, making numerous saves on good scoring chances mostly by the Bears' first line of Jake Hansen, Matt Hartmann, and Drew Schmitt. Collette nearly equaled him at the other end in his first varsity start. Hill-Murray's only goal of regulation came when Larson's long shot rebounded off the end boards and was put in by Dan Cecka at the side of the goal. Derek Quast tied the game midway through the second period, gathering the puck out of a scrum in the slot and wristing a shot just underneath the crossbar.
