Game Recap

Eight different players scored for Hill-Murray, which has won back to back games by identical 10-1 scores. Dan Sova scored his first two goals of the season, both on the power play, as the Pioneers won easily.

Hill-Murray controlled the entire first period but didn't score until the midway point, when Jake Lechner gathered a rebound of Ed Letourneau's shot and scored from the top of the crease. Sova scored his first from the left wing circle, and Jeff Westerhaus raced up the right side for the third goal, cutting to the goal and sliding the puck under goalie Tom Horner.

A string of four consecutive Hill-Murray penalties gave North St. Paul a two man advantage to start the second period. Dan Dezelar scored the Polars' only goal on a long shot that appeared to be tipped. Hill-Murray quickly resumed control after that, scoring five times to take an 8-1 lead into the second intermission.

The Pioneer first line scored twice on the same shift for the only scoring of the third period. Nick Larson wristed a shot over replacement goalie Mike Orlando's right shoulder for his second goal of the game, then Tyler Zepeda fired another wrist shot over Orlando's left shoulder on a 2-on-1 break.
