Game Recap Jak Knelman led Holy Angels' offense with a hat trick, and the Stars pulled away with five unanswered goals in what had been an evenly played game through the first 30 minutes. They will play for the Gold Division championship for the second consecutive year, while Hill-Murray meets White Bear Lake for third place. Hill-Murray scored on just their second shot, when Dan Cecka outmuscled a defender for the puck behind the net and fed Tyler Zepeda in the slot for a shorthanded goal. Holy Angels had a 9-3 shot advantage in the first period and finally scored when Knelman buried a loose puck in the crease after a flurry of chances. The Pioneers went back in front 2-1 when Cecka's forechecking again created an opportunity near the Stars' net. Cecka himself finished this one after several players attempted shots from close range. Hill-Murray had limited Holy Angels' transition offense to that point, but didn't do so well in that department the second half of the game. Knelman and Charlie Raskob scored into the upper corner on 2-on-1s before the second period was over. Sandwiched between those goals was Britton Smith's go ahead score, a tip of Bryan Brutlag's point shot. Hill-Murray had a chance to get back in the game with their first power play at the start of the third period, but Chase Polacek went in alone and scored to make it 5-2. Knelman's third goal, also on a breakaway, concluded the scoring in the waning seconds.
