Game Recap Hill-Murray built a 3-0 lead and hung on for a 4-2 victory to sweep the season series against South St. Paul. The penalty box was rarely vacant for long and the only even strength goal of the game came with one second left. Hill-Murray had South St. Paul running around their defensive zone by the second period, in which Ben Bahe scored two goals and two other Pioneers hit the corner of the goalpost with hard shots from the slot. Bahe's first was set up by a long bank pass from Chris Casto. Sensing trouble, goalie Adam Wilcox skated out from the net to intercept the puck, but Bahe won the race and shot the puck into the unattended net for a shorthanded goal. Later, with the man advantage reversed, Bahe flicked Tyler Zepeda's centering pass under the goalie's pads for a 2-0 lead. Jordan Johnson one-timed Bahe's pass from 25 feet for another power play goal 4:14 into the final period. Hill-Murray's physical defense left the Packers with little room to operate for most of the game, but nearly seven minutes of power play time in the third period alone gave South St. Paul a chance to make things interesting. Trevor Mikacevich tipped Jesse Poznikowich's centering pass from the right boards with 6:47 remaining, and South St. Paul tried to double up another man advantage in the final two minutes, but Jeff Westerhaus cleared the zone and outraced everyone to the other end for a clinching empty net goal.
