Game Recap On the ten year anniversary of a Hill-Murray 2-0 upset win over White Bear Lake in the 2000 Section Final, those two schools won their respective 2010 semifinals, ensuring that their annual holy war will commence as scheduled Friday at 6 p.m. The Pioneers had a much easier time of it Wednesday, winning their second consecutive game by a 6-0 margin. White Bear, meanwhile, survived a physical battle with Stillwater and won on Justin Hauswirth's goal with under six minutes remaining. The Bears had previously defeated Stillwater twice by a single goal, and this time added an empty net tally to make the final 3-1. Hill-Murray did most of its damage in the second period, scoring four times on 16 shots. Ben Bahe got the offense going at 3:43, sliding the puck in from close range after an offensive zone faceoff win. Then Kevin Becker interrupted PA man Dave Wright's announcement of Bahe's goal, taking a feed from Willie Faust and hitting the upper corner on a 2-on-1. The goals 11 seconds apart early in the period were matched by another pair 1:32 apart late in the period. Charlie Sampair picked up a loose puck in the slot and fired it in for a 3-0 lead. Moments later, Bahe tipped the puck past a pinching defenseman leading to another 2-on-1, on which Becker returned the favor from his earlier goal, setting up Faust for a shot into the upper corner. Hill-Murray picked up right where they left off in the third, as Ryan Holler forced a turnover behind the net and fed Jack Walsh for a shot into the upper corner. For the game's final goal, Bahe and Becker teamed up for another 2-on-1. Noticing a pattern on the shot location of several of Hill-Murray's previous goals, goalie Dylan Culver did his best to cover the spot, but Becker froze him and slid a backhand into an open net.
