Hill-Murray had another dominant season and finally defeated Blake in the state tournament, only to lose to St. Paul Academy in the final.
Terry Skrypek succeeded Andre Beaulieu as coach and was behind the bench for 325 victories in 14 years. He went on to coach the University of St. Thomas and also won over 300 games there.
Kevin Nugent played four years at Notre Dame and was drafted by the Boston Bruins. He was a teammate of Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier on Indianapolis of the WHA in 1978-79.
