1978-1979 Hill-Murray Hockey
St. Paul City Conference Champion
- One of Hill-Murray's strongest teams ever, the 1979 Pioneers faced a tough draw in the state tournament and did not place. Their only losses were by one goal to tourney entries Grand Rapids (5th Place), John Marshall (2nd Place), and Edina East (Champion).
- Chris Pryor attended the University of New Hampshire and was signed by the Minnesota North Stars in 1985. He played 82 games with the North Stars and New York Islanders from 1985-1990, and later became Director of Hockey Operations for the Philadelphia Flyers.
- Steve Griffith went to the University of Minnesota for four years and then played in the 1984 Olympics. Pat Ethier played on the University of Wisconsin's 1981 NCAA championship team.
