2010-2011 Hill-Murray Hockey Section 4AA 2nd Place Classic Suburban Champion Schwan Cup Gold Division Champion
- Hill-Murray followed a successful 2010 season with more of the same in 2011 - deep, balanced scoring and effective defensive play; the team finished with 185 goals to 44 against and was outshot only 3 times.
- The Pioneers won the top division of the Xcel holiday tournament for the first time, extricating themselves from a 3-1 deficit to defeat Minnetonka in the championship game.
- After starting 1-2, Hill-Murray was nearly untouchable the rest of the season. Following a well played loss to eventual state champion Eden Prairie on Jan 6, the Pioneers won 16 straight and finished the season with the state's #1 ranking. But like the #1 1996 Pioneers, the 2011 edition suffered an overtime loss to White Bear Lake in the section playoffs. This one came after Hill-Murray had erased a 4-1 third period deficit and ended the Pioneers' 14 game win streak against the Bears and the school's run of 5 section championships, both streaks dating to the start of the 2006 season.
- One of the most bizarre games in school history was played outdoors on a Saturday afternoon in Moorhead, the school's first outdoor game since the early 1960s. Warm temperatures turned the rink to slush and one of the nets had to be relocated to avoid a soft spot.
- A December snowstorm forced the postponement of the St. Thomas Academy game to the final day of the regular season. With both teams ranked #1 in their respective classes, Hill-Murray won 4-2 to claim sole possession of the conference title.
- Statewide, the 2011 playoffs featured an unusually high number of overtime games. Five of eight AA section finals were decided in overtime; two more were one goal contests, and the other was a 2-0 empty net goal victory. The state tournament featured five more overtime games, including the first ever three OT state championship game. White Bear Lake's last five games went to overtime, and the last four went to multiple overtimes.
